Höbinger Strike Sends Liverpool Fourth in WSL with Win at Bristol City
The Austrian forward scored her second goal for the club as the Reds moved up to fourth in the standings.
Liverpool moved up to fourth in the FA Women's Super League with a 1-0 win at Bristol City on Sunday.
Substitute Katharina Hobinger scored the only goal of the game in the 89th minute to earn the Reds all three points.
The hosts had the better of the chances in the first half, with Ebony Salmon twice going close. However, Liverpool goalkeeper Rachael Laws was in fine form and kept her side in the game.
The Reds came out with more purpose after the break and began to create chances of their own. Substitute Ashley Hodson hit the post from close range, while Rachel Furness had a header cleared off the line.
Liverpool finally got their breakthrough in the 89th minute. Hodson drilled a low cross into the box and Hobinger was on hand to tap home from close range.
The win moves Liverpool up to fourth in the WSL, level on points with third-placed Manchester United.
Bristol City remain in eighth place, but they are now just two points above the relegation zone.
