Hyundai Recalls 2024 Sonatas for Flashing Brake Lights

What's the problem?

The brake light software in certain 2024 Hyundai Sonatas may cause the brake lights to flash instead of illuminate, increasing the risk of a crash.

Hyundai is recalling 38,331 Sonatas from the 2024 model year. The affected vehicles were manufactured between November 1, 2022, and March 1, 2023.

Hyundai is not aware of any crashes, injuries, or incidents related to the flashing brake lights. However, the company is recalling the affected vehicles to fix the problem.

What should you do?

If you own a 2024 Hyundai Sonata, you should contact your local Hyundai dealer to schedule a free repair. The repair will take about 30 minutes to complete.

In the meantime, Hyundai recommends that you avoid driving your Sonata at night or in low-visibility conditions.
