AC/DC Co-Founder and Producer George Young Dies at 70

Australian Music Legend Passes Away

Young, who co-founded the iconic rock band with his brother Angus, played a pivotal role in shaping their sound and success

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Australian songwriter and AC/DC producer George Young. Young, who was 70 years old, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, October 22, 2017.

Young was best known for his work with AC/DC, which he co-founded with his younger brother, Angus, in 1973. He produced the band's first seven albums, including their groundbreaking 1979 album "Highway to Hell." Young's production style helped to define AC/DC's signature sound, which is characterized by its heavy riffs, catchy melodies, and anthemic choruses.

In addition to his work with AC/DC, Young also wrote and produced songs for a number of other artists, including The Easybeats, Stevie Wright, and Rose Tattoo. He was also a member of the band Fraternity.

Young's death is a great loss to the music world. He was a talented songwriter, producer, and musician who helped to create some of the most iconic rock songs of all time. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and fans.
