The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has provisionally approved the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for use in Australia. This means that the vaccine has met the TGA's safety and efficacy standards.
AstraZeneca Not Available Since March 21, 2023
However, the AstraZeneca vaccine has not been available in Australia since March 21, 2023. This is because of concerns about the vaccine's potential link to a rare blood clotting disorder called thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS).

Four main COVID-19 vaccines are approved for use in Australia: Comirnaty (Pfizer), Spikevax (Moderna), AstraZeneca, and Nuvaxovid (Novavax).
