OSullivan takes off shoes mid-frame in World Open qualifier

Irishman produces bizarre moment during qualifying match

Ronnie O'Sullivan produced a bizarre moment during his World Open qualifier against Robbie Williams on Thursday by taking off his shoes mid-frame.

The incident occurred in the fourth frame of the match, with O'Sullivan trailing 2-1. The five-time world champion was potting fluently and had just taken a 43-point lead when he suddenly stopped and removed his shoes.

O'Sullivan then walked around the table with his socks on, before putting his shoes back on and continuing to play. He went on to win the frame and the match 5-2, but the incident left commentators and fans alike baffled.

Speaking after the match, O'Sullivan said he had taken his shoes off because his feet were "too hot." He also said that he had been experiencing some discomfort in his back, but that he was feeling better now.

O'Sullivan's victory means he has now qualified for the main draw of the World Open, which takes place in Yushan, China, from March 20-26.
